Parent Primer · Last updated October 29, 2026

Parent Primer helps parents understand the way their child's class teaches math. It is meant for parents, not children. We collect as little as we can, and here is exactly what happens to it.

Homework photos

When you take or choose a photo of a homework page, we use it to work out which topics are on the page and, if you ask, the answers. We remove location and other hidden details as soon as it arrives. We do not save the photo on our servers, sell it, or use it to train AI.

To read the photo we send it securely to Claude, an AI service from Anthropic. Anthropic does not use it to train its models and keeps it only for a short time under its own privacy policy.

To avoid charging you twice for the same page, we keep a one-way fingerprint of a photo whose answers you unlocked. It cannot be turned back into the picture.

What we keep

Topic guides (such as "Rounding to the nearest hundred") are written from the curriculum, not from your homework, and are shared between parents. Nothing about your child is in them.

Guides you open are saved on your phone, not on our servers. You can remove them at any time in History.

What we don't do

Children

Parent Primer is for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A homework page may show a child's handwriting; we read it only to make your guide and do not keep it. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Account › Delete account. This removes your sign-in, your email address, and everything we keep about you, right away, and clears the guides saved on that phone. You can also ask us to delete it by contacting us.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
